Day 100!

Filed under: 100 Days of Fun Challenge — Deb @ 1:57 pm

Whoo, hoo!
Well, we made it!  100 days once again.  How did you do?  How does it feel?  Do you think you will continue in this new activity that you have been doing for the last 100 days?  This is the day to celebrate.  Making a commitment to do something for 100 days is no small thing so I hope you are celebrating.  I have just booked a flight to Orlando, Florida for the Thanksgiving weekend!  The plan is to visit Disney World (“the happiest place on earth”) – how much fun will that be??!  I’m pretty excited.  This has come up as a bit of a surprise too which makes it even better!  A few things have aligned to make this possible and I did not expect this at all so I think the fun will continue a bit past the 100 days!

So how will you celebrate?  You don’t have to go to Disney to celebrate (that’s a bit extreme I admit) there are lots of ways to acknowlege your participation in this event.  Make sure you do something though…it’s important to acknowlege your efforts whether you finished the challenge or not, always give yourself credit for what you have attempted.  I hope you have enjoyed going along on my journey of fun these past 100 days.  Thank you to all of the people who joined me and keep me accountable to my challenge.  I appreciate your support!  Until the next challenge….stay well and be joyful!

Day 99

Filed under: 100 Days of Fun Challenge — Deb @ 1:43 pm

Hi,
Second last day…today was spontaneous fun.  I had some extra time and was downtown so I picked up my sweetie from work and went to the Forks for lunch.  We had both brought our lunches from home so it ended up being a bit like a picnic.  The weather was beautiful so we were able to sit outside and enjoy the trees and the river and the lovely atmosphere of the Forks.  I love it when fun presents itself when you weren’t expecting it!

Day 98

Filed under: 100 Days of Fun Challenge — Deb @ 8:01 pm

Hello,
Today my fun activity was creative brainstorming!  I love coming up with ideas and possiblities and then sorting through them to see what I can do next.  Even if none of the ideas pan out, it’s great to stretch your imagination for a while.  How often do you use your imagination?  Does it get regular stretching or does it have a few cob webs right now?!

Day 97

Filed under: 100 Days of Fun Challenge — Deb @ 3:35 pm

Hi,
Well we are almost there!  Only three days left in this challenge!  I spent a couple of hours this morning just reading a book (and not a book for work).  It’s a rainy day and much cooler than the rest of the weekend so it was nice to just curl up on the couch for a few hours and read.  What do you like to do on a rainy day?

Day 94 – 96

Filed under: 100 Days of Fun Challenge — Deb @ 5:30 pm

Hi,
This weekend was filled with fun activities.  My husband was helping his brother shingle his roof all weekend (poor guys – it was so hot all weekend) and so I was on my own to do whatever I wanted!  I took full advantage!  My weekend consisted of bike riding, walking, sitting on the deck, yummy meals, painting some birdhouses for my back yard, reading, journaling and quite a bit of quiet time!  It was a fabulous weekend.  How often do you get a day or a weekend to do what ever you want?  If you are like most people, you probably don’t get the opportunity very often.  If you did have the chance, what would you do?  Post your ideas here – I’d love to read them!

Day 93

Filed under: 100 Days of Fun Challenge — Deb @ 9:26 pm

Hi,
Today’s fun activity was kayaking at the Fort Whyte Centre again.  For five bucks you can rent a kayak and head out on the lake for some lovely outdoor activity and scenery.  There were so many people there tonight that we had to wait for people to get tired and come in before we could get on the lake.  It is becoming a more popular program and of course it was a beautiful evening to be out.  It was also the last evening for the program – just another reminder that summer is starting to wind down.  But I’m not going to think about that yet!!

Day 92

Filed under: 100 Days of Fun Challenge — Deb @ 7:06 pm

Hi,
I’m still on holidays but we have come home from the lake and so today, I just spent some time puttering around my yard.  Cleaning up some flower beds and trimming some trees, etc. It probably isn’t most people’s idea of fun and really, I think it was more relaxing for me that actual fun but relaxing is good, too.  The thing I am most proud of is that I didn’t go into my at home office and start working!  What works better for you?  Do you have to physically go away from home to relax and get a break or can you ignore those little jobs that pop up around your home/office when you are supposed to be on holidays?

Day 83 – 91

Filed under: 100 Days of Fun Challenge — Deb @ 12:55 pm

Hello!
This last eight days have been holidays for me so there was actually quite a bit of fun going on and it was pretty easy to make time in the day for fun because that’s all I had to do!  We borrowed my brother-in-law’s tent trailer and headed out to the Canadian Sheild near Kenora Ontario.  Wow, its beautiful out there – I had forgotten how much I loved that area of the country!  We camped near the lake and so every day was some kind of outdoor activity – hiking, cycling, swimming, suntanning, kayaking.  We had a couple of rainy days so we went into Kenora and did some shopping and some geocaching.  If you don’t know what geocaching is check out www.geocaching.com to get more info.  It’s like an adult treasure hunt that takes place all over the world.  We have been doing it for a couple of years now and it can really take you to some interesting places!  We had a great, relaxing week filled with alot of the fun things that we both like to do and in a beautiful place to boot!  I hope you had some time for holidays this summer and that you were able to get rested and renewed!

Day 80 – 82

Filed under: 100 Days of Fun Challenge — Deb @ 6:43 am

Hi,
This weekend was our annual baseball tournament to end the season.  We had great weather – actually, it was getting pretty hot by Sunday afternoon and was making it pretty hard to play.  We didn’t win the tournament – kind of like we didn’t win alot of games all year – but it was fun to be out there playing.  Our team is very relaxed and we laugh alot which really makes the games fun and the whole weekend fun as well.  Do you do things with other people on a regular basis?  Are you on any teams (not just sports teams…)?  Do you have more fun doing things with a group or by yourself?  Post your comments here…

Day 79

Filed under: 100 Days of Fun Challenge — Deb @ 11:36 pm

Hello,
Tonight I went to Rainbow Stage in Kildonan Park.  If you haven’t been there, it is a wonderful outdoor stage that puts on very family oriented musicals and plays.  It has a roof on it but the sides are open and it is deep in the heart of the park so you are surrounded by beautiful trees and plants and the sounds of nature as you watch talented actors brings stories to life.  I went to see Peter Pan with my sister in law and I really enjoyed it (the pirates were hilarious!).  Many years ago, my Mom took me to see Peter Pan and I was so fascinted with the fact that he could actually fly…that was so cool and I spent a lot of time trying to figure out how I could get my hands on some fairy dust so I could fly too!  Reliving my childhood a little bit tonight!  If you like musicals and have some time, I would recommend checking it out…it’s playing until the end of August.  It might get your imagination revved up!
