Day 24

Filed under: 100 Day Challenge — Deb @ 9:01 pm

Hi!
Well, I applied the gentle approach again this morning and sure enough – I didn’t even have to convince myself to do my yoga set!  One of the poses (cobra) is particularly challenging for me to do but today not only did I do the pose for the whole time (each of the poses is timed), I actually smiled while I did it!  Yes, I realize I am a laughter yoga instructor and you’d think that smiling and laughing would be a given for me with this challenge but that has been the furthest thing from my mind.  Isn’t it cool how, when I decided to be gentle with myself, I was more successful?  Hhmm…there’s an interesting concept!  Have a great day!

Day 23

Filed under: 100 Day Challenge — Deb @ 8:56 pm

Hey there!
I decided to try a new approach to my yoga this morning.  Yesterday I confessed that I wasn’t liking it very much so I decided to change my mindset.  I applied the idea of gentleness to my practice.  Instead of forcing myself to do it and dragging myself to the mat I asked myself “how can I do this more gently?”  I gave myself permission to just do what felt right for me and just giving myself permission made it so much easier.  I did all of the poses in the set but with a different attitude it seemed much easier.

Are you being gentle with your challenge?  Are you beating yourself down because you have missed a few days (or more…)?  Ask yourself the question “How can I approach my challenge with gentleness?”  See what changes when you do!

P.S. Flossing is still going strong!
