Hi!
I have a little confession to make…I’m not sure how well I am doing with this fun challenge. I have noticed that I don’t always start my day with the focus of “what will I do for fun today” like I wanted to. I think I am too much of an adult in some ways and I have actually caught myself saying (to myself) “you don’t have time for fun today – you’ve got too many things to do.” Wow – how’s that for a fun squasher?! The scary part is that it is coming from me and no one else! I must say, though, that this type of situation is what makes a 100 Day Challenge so very valuable. It forces some of your old beliefs and habits to the surface where you can take a good, long look at them and decide if you really want to believe them anymore or perhaps, you can believe something else (like “I always have plenty of time for fun in my day – fun makes me healthier”). Another valuable part of a 100 Day Challenge is that it gives you lots of time to practice! Maybe some of my days didn’t involve much fun but I still have another 50 days to get better at having fun! And, I have been talking with my coach about this issue too and she has been great at pointing out a few things that are not serving me so well. Ah, who knew fun could be so challenging!! And with that being said, here’s my week:
Day 41 – Monday – shopping trip to MEC – one of my favorite stores (after Dairy Queen of course!) (fun)
Day 42 – Tuesday – had a good friend over for supper – just the two of us and we talked for 3 1/2 hours!!(fun, joy)
Day 43 – Wednesday – played slow pitch and then drinks on the patio afterwards – lovely night for ball!(fun)
Day 44 – Thursday – I stopped and picked up a chai latte (one of my treats) and drove all the way down Wellington Crescent from Osborne Village just sipping my tea and enjoying the scenery (joy)
Day 45 – Friday – spent a blissful couple of hours playing with some creative writing and journaling (joy, fun)
Day 46 – Saturday – what were your favorite foods or treats as a child? One of my favorite candies was Sweet Tarts – so I went out and bought some today and wow – the first one I tasted took me right back to my hometown and the candy store that I always went to on Saturdays – yummy! I think I’ll go get an orange popsicle next! (fun)
Day 47 – Sunday – we went to the Winnipeg Folk Festival (my very first time!) with some good friends – what a great day, out in the park, beautiful weather, good friends, good food, good music (new, fun, fun, fun!)
