Time to Wake Up

Filed under: Reconnection — Deb @ 10:00 am

“Don’t seek, don’t search, don’t ask, don’t knock, don’t demand – relax.  If you relax, it comes.  If you relax, it is there.  If you relax, you start vibrating with it.” – Osho

On February 2nd something significant happened – something extremely important.  I’ll bet you didn’t notice.

No, it wasn’t the ground hog predicting a longer or shorter winter but it was related to spring.  February 2nd was the day that nature began the quiet process of shifting out of winter.  The heat from the sun increased just enough to warm the seeds resting in the earth.  Because of this small increase in warmth, the seeds began to vibrate with energy.  The seeds began the process of waking up.

Did you notice?

I didn’t notice.

We can’t see this subtle shift but eventually we will see the result in the grasses and flowers that poke their heads through the earth.  Even though it doesn’t look like anything important is happening from our perspective, we have to trust that there is something hugely important going on.

It can be the same with us humans.

For a long time I struggled to sit in meditation because I felt like nothing was happening.  Even worse, I imagined that people would think that because I was just “sitting around” I was being lazy, unproductive and not contributing anything to the world.  I had to learn to trust that something was happening and the more I sat, the more my life changed.  The “seeds” that I planted began to vibrate and slowly, quietly, consistently I became calmer, happier, more peaceful and more awake.  Learning to slow down and to sit still has also helped me to hear the whisperings of my heart which led me to quit my job, become a coach, start a business, become a yoga teacher, embark on many travel adventures, begin leading retreats….the list is a long one.  Every day when I sit in meditation I don’t know if anything is happening but now I trust that deep under the layers of my outside appearance, some small part of me is vibrating to life.

Take a moment now to breathe into your body.  Allow yourself to get still.  Can you feel it?  There is something stirring deep inside you….a gentle vibration that is calling you to wake up.  It is time.  Can you give yourself permission to slow down?  Do nothing?  Get quiet and listen to the stirrings of your deepest desires?  Don’t worry that anyone is watching or judging you for stopping.  Remember, something very important is happening under the surface – a delicious secret that you can keep all to yourself…until the time is right and it is ready to come into full bloom.  Happy Spring, my friends!

Love,

Deb

P.S.

It was three years ago this month that I was diagnosed with breast cancer.  Today I am feeling healthy and strong and grateful for every day that I get to be here.  I attribute much of my recovery and good health to my daily practice of getting quiet and going within.  I am positive that I would not have been able to cope with the fear, uncertainty and chaos of the breast cancer world if it hadn’t been for these practices.  So I am very pleased to be able to offer you the opportunity to develop your own supportive practices through my next Way of the Happy Woman retreat.  Here are the details and please consider joining me!
