Day 4
Hi!
Well, the weekend has proven to be a good place to sort out some logistics for this challenge. I did my yoga set this morning and I am happy to report that I shaved some time off of yesterday (not that it’s a race) so I am getting more used to it already! The flossing is actually a little more tricky than I thought it would be. Yesterday I ended up flossing in the car (I wasn’t driving, don’t worry!) in order to fit it into the day. I also realized that I need to set up a better system so that I can fit these things into my day.
How does your environment support you in this challenge? Have you set things up so that it makes it easier for you to fulfill your commitment everyday? For example, I put a calendar up in the bathroom and have a marker nearby so that everytime I am in the bathroom, I see the calendar and am reminded that I have to floss. I also have a visual measurement of how far I’ve come. I get satisfaction from being able to “check” things off so this calendar works well to keep me going. This kind of system might not work for you but hopefully you get the idea. Maybe you need to check in with a friend or have a friend or family member remind you, maybe it’s post-it notes on the milk carton…find something that works for you so that you don’t have to tax your memory with trying to remember to do this everyday. If you have enough reminders around your environment you will find it much easier to do and eventually, it will become a habit so that you won’t need the reminders! More on designing your environment tomorrow!
