Fun Points

Hi!
My nephew is visiting right now. He is 16 months and is a little powerhouse!  He never stops moving and is interested in everything – especially big trucks!  Last night we went for a walk and while he can’t talk, he was still able to make it known that he could see the puddles on the side of the street and he wanted to investigate.  Well, as soon as he was lifted down from his perch on his Dad’s shoulders he headed straight for the water.  At first, he tentatively walked along the edge of the puddle, moving the water with his shoe and then Dad got in the game.  He showed him how to splash in the puddle by stomping one foot squarely in the middle.  Well, my nephew is no fool and he knows a good thing when he sees it so he readily copied his Dad and began stomping around the puddles, water and mud splashing everywhere producing giggles that just wouldn’t stop.  Now there’s a boy who knows how to have some fun.  So auntie got in the game as well and everyone came home with wet pants and huge grins!  There were definitely some fun points collected on that walk!!  How do you collect your fun points?  Do you take advantage of the rain by jumping in the puddles?

  1. Deb,

This sounds really fun, but for me, the result would be more laundry – so that would outweigh the puddle splashing fun. ( Unless it was hot out and everyone was in bathing suits!)
